Intensive mare care and foaling
Butter came to Rancho Del Zorro for special care during foaling.
Due to foal at any time, her owners brought her here after she encountered some lameness problems. Unfortunately we think Butter came in contact with some toxic plants in a round roll of hay that caused her to have this condition. She was in a lot of discomfort and needed special medication for pain and round the clock care since her foaling could prove to be complicated with her lameness issues.
We monitored her for a few weeks and waited day and night for her to foal out. Showing all the textbook signs of foaling but still no baby.
Butter Foaled out on Sunday morning the 26th around 5:00 Am she had a beautiful little filly who has a lot of spunk! she had a hard birth but everything went well and mom and baby are doing great. Once Butter foaled she did better with out the weight of the baby on her feet.
