Raising baby's "Mack" the orphaned foal |
Here at Rancho Del Zorro our utmost pleasure is in our breeding program. Breeding quality Paso Fino's and Andalusians is a labor of love . We strive to have a breeding program that has a strong genetic foundation as well as a successful birth rate. We breed live cover as well as A I and have round the clock supervision for our mares in foal, about to foal, and our babies after birth. We believe strongly in being present for every foaling. We have an 8400 sq ft. foaling barn completely outfitted for that purpose. Surveillance camera's have been installed to watch our mares and babies to insure their safety and we have a full breeding lab on premises for all of our testing, A. I, and breeding needs.
Linda Fox is a certified reproduction specialist who over sees the breeding program here at the ranch. Trained at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Linda has learned various methods of live cover and A I breeding.

Rancho Del Zorro has two breeding stallions, "El Mito De La Luisa" renowned imported Columbian Fino stallion as well as T.B. Wolf -P.R.E. -Andalusian Stallion. These studs are bred to our broodmares as well as booked to outside mares during breeding season. Rancho Del Zorro assists others with breeding as well. We have visiting stallions during breeding season who come to visit "Maggie Mount" our most well behaved mare! She never kicks or bites and always stands peacefully!

We occasionally have outside mares come in for live cover breeding to our stallions , as well as AI and ultrasound.
Special circumstances.........
Linda Supplementing "George" in between nursing.
Sometimes little guys need help! This is "Boy George". He was brought to us by an outside ranch when his mother passed away. Severely dehydrated and in need of a nurse mare, his loving owners Ida and Gary Paquette brought him to the ranch to be paired with a broodmare who could nurse him. George needed several days of "round the clock" care to get him re-hydrated and healthy . We paired him with "Briosa", a Paso Fino mare who had a full bag of milk and had just weaned her baby. Today George is doing very well! For more information on this poor little orphan click the link below. "Saving Mack" -A story of a rejected foal
